Toxic?

Hey guys,

I've been practising some mushroom chainsaw carving (here's one I made earlier :001_tongue:) and wanted to apply preservative. I used Barrettine and as it's got all the toxic symbols on the back I wondered if it's no longer toxic when it's fully dry? Just wanted to check before someone's cat/child/spouse licks it and keels over :001_smile:

Cheers,

Jenny

sorry about that, my poota decided to switch off halfway thru my first reply!

yeah, just check the label to see what its actualy toxic to, it might just be dont tip it down the plug, or bad if you drink it.

i use the wickes own brand, good stuff! cant remember wot the label says tho!

if you wear gloves whilst carving, they should be more than enough

Cheers everyone, didn't expect any feedback on the mushroom itself actually, gives me some hope!:001_smile:

Tommy - Barrettine seems quite expensive normally but I got it trade price which was handy :thumbup1:

John - I've got the Wickes one too actually, it's got a much lower toxic stuff content on the back but I haven't tried it yet as it looks quite dark? What colour do you use?

Does anyone know where you can get a fairly cheap (preferably not highly toxic :001_tongue:) clear preservative? I know Barrattine do one but wondered what everyone else uses
