Cheers Hama , have had a look at my ART gear and all is ok . My only thought was that the informatin given by art does make me wonder if the equipment is fit for purpose , how do you retrieve a friction saver without it hittin the ground other than using the double snapper that gets stuck more often than it works ???

Cheers for the link hama :thumbup1:

CTS,THrow your throwline high enough (doesnt really matter where)clip the throwline (clip above the bag) onto you rope,Pull throwline up to branch that its over,Then pull your rope through the RG while holding onto TL then just lower your TL down as it will have the RG and rope on.

I do this all the time just make sure you get your TL high enough.

no actually it can't it doesn't come out the same way as a normal cambium saver. if theres anything going through the pulley still when trying to remove it then it can't come out of the ring the pulley is sitting in. and if the pulley was to come out the whole unit would drag the throwline around whatever it was on and turn into a right tangle. thats why they invented that retrieval unit which i don't have a clue how it works anymore

Tie a throwline to the big ring and lower the device off with that
