The plaque is interesting. This whole religion, birth of christianity/catholism stuff really interests me, though more because I am interested in the old origional religion of the ancient britons and europeans, paganism.

 

The early christians built thier churches directly onto the sites of the pagans church, the old Yews, this in itself was an insult and gave them easy accses to pagan worshipers for "conversion" another insult. Then they took the symbol for the pagan tri of air water and earth and converted that to the Holy trinity the father the ghost and the blah blah. the earliest churches even have pagan symbols within them which helped "convert" the pagans, ironic isnt it as later once they had established a pressence they then wiped out the Pagans as heritics!

 

as you can tell i am a bit anti christianity, for this if nothing else!

Look at Xmas and Ester, full of pagan stuff!!!

Hey-up bud, I went to go and see the Yew this morning - it is grand isn't it!! Had a funny old time there really, a lady was struggling with a box to the church so I offered to help.....ended up lifting stuff around and setting up flower displays for a couple of hours haha!!!

Awesome trees there , its just mindblowing the historical importance and meaning to the british people that these trees are , past , present and future.... Agree Skyhuck of the christian hijackings especially the bloomin easter chocolate bunny thingy :biggrin:
