Maybe swapping up the tree is the way forward then.

 

I'll see how I get on. Seem to be doing a lot of ivy covered stuff at the mo, and I bought the wire-core for that as well.

If mine is getting in the way I put it through the karitool on the side of my harness which is nice and big for pulling slack through or pulling the whole thing through when adjusting/moving etc.

Used it today on a medium Birch TD.

 

Loved it.

 

The extra weight meant it didn't coil and get in the way as much as my lanyard, and tucked in Caritool nicely in certain positions.

I just pass the end through D ring on side of harness or through a carabiner clipped on side or behind so its out of the way.

 

ditto through a crab at the back
