Poplar felling with crane

Todays job, felling a black poplar.

 

Video quality is hit-and-miss again, sorry, definitely not a Beranek production.

 

Anyway, the job went well and we were finished by mid-day, before the rain came.

 

The camera can go away for a while now until something a little more interesting comes along.

 

Footage is about 5-6 minutes.

Nice work Reg. Practice has certainly made you perfect on the balancing of those limbs.

 

Thanks guys. Although I'd say its about about 95% intuition nowdays. If I do make a hash of it, its usually because Ive thought about it too much. Same with pruning i.e. crown reduction, I find that the first instinct is usually the correct one.

 

Does anyone relate/agree with that?

yep,learnt that quite a while ago.the longer you look at something the harder it becomes,think it's because you run to many options thru your mind.make a decision and go for it
