Heartwood was unknown quantity, surely, and it would have been safer not to IMO.

To be fair – when Matt put the gob in he cut through healthy wood, not a sign of decay. We only had a small bar on the ‘66 so I guess Matt decided to bore into it, pull rope was up – there was only one way that was going to come down.

I’ve bought Matt some lovely new Timberland gloves as well! I’ve have ‘em back off him if he’s not careful! lol
