From the sounds of how it all works you would be fecked!

So really every freelance we get in we should have the proof of there gear being LOLERED, plus every time we use a crane, hired in mewp, grab wagon etc etc we should get a copy of there LOLER ticket.

so going with that point we should check eveyday to ensure that the loler ticket hasnt expired, and if it has they should be sent home

He he probably.

I suppose its easy to understand why 'jobs worths' on site want to see every scrap of paper work.

Would be fairly poor to loose your house because someone didnt have the right bit of paper and they injured themselves in a completely different aspect of work not relating to that bit of paper!

HSE leaflet INDG422 free to download gives guidance on loler inspections, it say's thorough examination by a competent person, not a loler inspector. It also gives guidance as to what constitutes a competent person for thorough examination. My opinion after reading this, is that if you regularly inspect your exuipment, keep a record, along with having a arborist of a few years standing who has used and worked with similar equipment, check your equipment, then you are complying with loler.

Under loler your anchor point in a tree constitutes part of your lifting equipment and should be thoroughly examined prior to use, would you therefore expect a loler examiner to inspect every job you do?
