Dean,

As a landowner you can "mine" your land for your own use i.e. to extract stone for improving roadways etc. I believe that this can be done without planning aslong as no material leaves your property.

Worth looking into, as you could say the stone you are extracting is to create a logdeck for extraction.

That is exactly what I am doing, the rock from the top will be put over the bottom half to create a firm surface as the clay layer is a nightmare

Register your Section 36 exemption with the environment agency and then you have an annual limit of 150 tonnes per hectare which you can level your site with. :thumbup1:

Environment Agency - Paragraph 36 exemption - spreading dredgings

while your on to the EA its worth checking that you have all the other useful exemptions in place so that when planners come looking you have the EA seal of approval. :001_tt2:

Have you now swapped land with the scout's?

Signed today Cordwood so legally yes, I've just got to wait another 5 week or so to finalise by registering first title on their bit, mine is all nice and neat being already titled.

I should be able to start fencing etc shortly
