death is a hefty punishment for the theft of clothes and a quad. if you were wanting an eye for an eye, then he ought to have had them stolen back off him, not killed on a railway.

Oh I agree, not interested in an eye for an eye or anything that deep. Although as far as I'm concerned if you break the law you deserve whatever you get.

I didn't write the script what happened, happened but I certainly wouldn't shed a tear over someone in these circumstances.

On a slight tangent, but may give you a little heart to know there is occasionally a rightous outcome to these things.

Back before Christmas they opened a well known outdoors shop in Cardiff the sort of place you may go if you go outdoors a lot.

Allegedly

Anyway they got broken into one night, through the back apparently, and had a large quantity of very expensive outdoor clothing nicked. (About £40k) The police were there within 4 minutes of the alarm sounding but couldn't gain access through the font and the rear backed onto a railway line. It would appear the ne'erdowells had already gone anyway.

They had made good there escape on a pair of quadbikes and lived on a local estate further up the rail line. They apparently used the railway line as a place to play on their quads regularly as the police gave them too much hassle if they rode them round illegally on the road. :confused1:

They therefore knew the lines pretty well. What they hadn't accounted for was the train that was going in for maintenance that met them in the tunnel head on while making their way home with their ill gotten gains.

The one was killed outright the other one was badly injured I believe, and it turned out that the quad was stolen too.

What gobsmacked me was the locals there had a period of mourning for the loss of this fella who apparently, "just wanted some fun."

As far as I know they were not in a tunnel and were hit from behind.

I too felt no sympathy at all for these leeches on society.

True, but if people chose to ignore the law (by being on the rail line in the first place) in order to take from hard working people to make their lazy lives better, then they deserve the consequences of ignoring the law.

I have little sympathy for them, in this case. They started the chain of events that led to their fate, it probably seemed like a fun day out for them. They obviously forgot the 6 P's in their haste. I'll save my tears for someone more deserving.

:dito:

At least they wont be able to contribute to the gene pool now.:thumbup1:

Lifes too short to not hate and not wish bad things on scum bags.:001_smile:

remember what Gandi said, " an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind"!!!!!!

Wise words.

On the subject of Quads - have you ever considered a Kawasaki Mule. We're on our 2nd one now. Light foot print, four wheel drive, excellent pay load (often don't need a trailer although it tows well too) can carry all the gear, saws, fuel, etc etc and TWO people across country fast and safely in a cab. Did the quad bit years ago, great fun and yes they have their place but a mule or similar type of vehicle works for us.
