You get the one thing that just works by having lots of things trying to be the best.

Competition breeds innovation.

Yes. Broadly agree. But. Loads of stuff has been put on the market, the creators knowing full well that it doesn't really push the envelope. They don't want to top the market. They just want a slice of it, within existing paradigms. Which is fine. Sell what you want. It's just annoying as a consumer to have so many options.

Example: Rope wrenches. The OG was fine. Puts the kink in, adjustable kink, midline attachable. What does a Chicane, Freexion or Apex do beyond that?

What a bizarre thought process!

They don’t want a slice of it, they want the lions share, to be the big dog, to dethrone the Zigzag, to be a game changer.

The best rises to the top, partly through word of mouth, partly through social media.

I see your point. I am being a bit communist about it aren't I.

Edited my earlier post with an example btw.

Detachable swivel so you can run it straight through your bridge is a great idea

Apart from the single point of wear, you will get. A stainless swivel bit would be a good upgrade, assuming its alluminium atm.
