If it’s a second hand truck there is no way of proving who manufactured/installed the towing equipment or whether it is CE marked etc etc. If it passes a mot then the owner can’t in any way be liable

Legally you can do what you want, as long as it meets EC94/20 standards.   What you’re proposing is almost certainly WAY over these standards.   Proving it?   Different b

All towbars are type approved and have a ce mark. Many years ago we would make them for motor homes and commercial vehicles, but couldn’t make them for cars as all have to be approved. The mounting points are approved by the manufacturer.
