It would certainly be an upgrade from what you have,however thats a ridiculously cheap price for a petrol strimmer so wouldnt vouch for its reliability or performance!

Plus spares availability will be none existant. You’ll need at the very minimum face/ear protection, decent boots, thick trousers or proper ppe.

if you’ll be maintaining this area a lot the worth spending the £ - buy cheap buy twice.

if it’s a one off clearance, either hire the right machine or get someone in to do it

Yes but brush cutting predominantly bramble, even with a mulching blade, is frustrating. If you can wait for stuff to die down after cutting (or roll it up) then a sharp, long handled slasher is effective. Follow up with a mower.

Nothing about cutting brambles is pleasant.  I find if you go at them too aggressively with the brushcutter, they get tangled round the shaft.  I like using an up/down motion to slowly pulverize them.  Also reversing a flail mower into bramble bushes seems to work quite well!
