Hi, I need to get a new can and I have been looking at the Husqvarna Combi Fuel Can 5 Litre.

I already have a mixing can for my fuel where I put Fuel in One Side, and the 2 Stroke in the other, and shake it to get my fuel mix in the right ratio.

But from what I can see about the Husqvarna, it looks like the fuel side is only for fuel,l and the other side is only for Bar Oil.

That's ok, but that means I would have to premix my fuel first before I put it in the Husqvarna Fuel holder.

Is that correct, or have I got it wrong?

I suppose I could add 5L of petrol and measure out the required amount of 2-stroke and put it in the petrol side of the Husqvarna.

Thanks

Easiest way is to put 5l in the ‘fuel’ side, then add 100ml of 2-stroke oil.

Oil first for easier mixing.

Stihl ‘one shots’ or similar make the process simpler.

Oil first for poka-yoke too. If you put petrol in first and then get distracted, you'll have neat petrol and kill your saws. If you put oil in first and then get distracted, you'll just have some oil in the bottom of a big can.

Combi cans are for mixed fuel on on side and chainsaw bar oil on the other. Not neat two stroke oil?

I only ever keep neat petrol in rectangular 5l petrol cans.  Mixed fuel goes in old aspen bottles (these pour really well). I fill the aspen bottle with 4 litres of fuel (again 4l pours better than 5) either from the pump or using a 2 litre measuring jug.  Then I use one of these squeezable metering bottles to get 40:1. I refill the metering jug with Oregon two stroke oil, the Stihl stuff is rubbish.

Or maybe a shake up ...

if he's putting fuel in on side of a conventional combi can and 2t oil in t'other

it'll quickly become "shake and bake":S
