it also means that a blue book is five years or more old

HSE wants training every five years

that means if someone still has blue book and no cards they dont meet HSE standard

My word this is hard work!!!!!!!!:001_rolleyes:

I don't have a blue book!!:001_rolleyes:I have a cert!!!!!!!!

I have both

and i personally think they are important

and yes if you have 20 21 22 if anything happened and they were called into question you would need to have proof of refresher training or updates and certainly the equipment has changed a lot over the years so I dont think there unjustified

I personally would not let you climb on my jobs without as you would be on MY insurance and i could be held liable for non compliance and all that malarkey:001_tt2:

And I don't suppose the fact that you are an assessor and make money from people updating there certs has any bearing on this opinion does it mate :sneaky2:

i am an assessor not an instructor

that cleared that up then:thumbup::confused1:

The blue book was what you used to use to work through your training and assessment, when you passed your assessment your assessor would sign the book, then you sent in the signed part of the book and they would send you your certificate.

If you still have a blue book its too late now too send it in.:001_smile:

Yes the equipment has changed (a little) BUT for the better, so I would argue that if you were safe with the old more dangerous equipment you should be even safer with the new safer gear.

Did truck drivers have to take a retest when power steering came in??:sneaky2:
