You can but it wont do it much good .

If your 24V truck has two 12V batteries just connect the leads two one of the pair.

Do either of them have E.C.U. s ?......

... or possibly DID they have sensitive electronics. 

Modern stuff doesn't like a lot of what we used to get away with.

As the man said,  connect to one battery only. You used to occasionally get away with it with old gear, but it ain't recommended!

Not tried on a tractor but these things are pretty good.

Noco boost jump start pack . They make various sizes . I have the 4250 amp one . Its about £400 but they have cheaper ones . Great bit of kit .

New battery but fit an isolator or take a terminal off, old leylands always seem to have earth leakage even with almost non existent wiring resulting in dead batteries.

 

Looks smaller than a 262.

 

Just jump start it off the car, in the old days I even started an old Leyland with ride on lawnmower left running for 5 minutes.

It depends how healthy or dead the battery is.  If its just a little low, I find pretty much any 12v car battery or booster pack will do it.  I've started all kinds of cars and a tractor with the help of my £50 400amp booster before.

 

If its really dead you need a strong car battery and to run the engine for a bit. Also at this stage you need a proper old fashioned power car battery charger - the modern auto ones wont work on a dead battery
