But on a brighter note.

I do note that the other bath, the one with the Monestra? The Amarillis cannot compete. That thug rules!

P.S.

All the product of planting out the various Amarillis bulbs we were given as Xmas presents.

plus pure benign neglect.

I would need to split the bigger bulbs though. They are now sending up 2 strong flower stalks is all.

Very nice indeed. Is that an Avocado tree in one corner as well?

Yup,

They truely grow like weeds, Any Avocado, that we ever  bought in Tescos, so nowt special or organic, and planted the stone from. Has invariably sprouted and then  grown most vigorously. Impressive if unproductive.

Did you just plonk the stone in the soil? I used to grow them as a youth; the old three cocktail sticks and a jar of water trick. They almost invariably rooted after a few weeks, as you say.

I found out recently that the leaves are edible. Used in Mexican cuisine. You could give it a try.

Looks like it was liquid damped too!

We used to replace them regularly in a past life, annoying but not the end of the world as you get an indication of pressure from the tail end.

Courtsey of Storm E?????, a few months back.

And rather a narrow escape.

But!

This one got fair dead centre nailed.

So?

Did I read on here years ago, that "damaging" like stippling the bark with a Silky saw, would encourage growth buds to form?

P.S.

The other Oaks that I planted and transplanted to the edge of the main Rodden, before paving with old lime mortar  demolition rubble, have absolutely thrived, they must love the lime. That is the last 3 images btw.

Ahh, I was just about to ask where you'd planted those, at first glance it looked outsidey, like on a big porch. But then on closer inspection I noticed the window and the rug.

I'm just wondering how hardy avocadoes can be. Mine are chomping at the bit to get back outside for the summer.
