I’ve just moved from Stihl 201, to an echo 2511t so I’m new to echo, I’m just running my new echo in and at the moment I’ve done a 1/4” conversion on it with the 10” Stihl bar and 1/4” chain, I’ve also modded the muffler.

With these mods will the tuning need adjusting, if so what or how do I adjust it?

If it doesn’t need adjusting, what are the optimal/best numbers/rpm to run these saws at?

thanks

Best to know these things before you mod the muffler? So at the moment its just making extra noise, possibly running lean.

I've gone the opposite way, 1/4" to 3/8" full chisel. Cuts  quicker and less cutters to be sharpened. If I want more noise and power I have the 020T.

My adhd and impatience doesn’t allow me to wait for these things lol I was told the muffler mod was fine to do regardless of tuning but I want my saw the run and cut the best it can so I was just curious to see what other people have done, I’m about to buy a tachometer but it’s brand new so it’s gna be running at factory settings, just wondering on other peoples opinion..

I've a tuning question.

One of my 2511 saws constantly cuts out when coming off the gas at the end of a cut and only stays running if the trigger is given a little squeeze.

Once it stalls it is then stubborn to restart.

Can this problem be simply tuned out?

    Cheers

If the muffler mod has been done correctly, good gains can be had from this small saw. Just tune it to rev out at around 13,000rpm and all is good.

Stuart - is this saw one of the old ones? Look at the serial number above the recoil cover. If it is a sticker then I may have a fix, if it is a laser etched serial then it may just need a carb tune.

I'll take a look in the morning.

My other Echo is one I sent to you.

This one local shop stock, probably 4/5 years old.

Mostly like the h needle will want richening as will run to lean and sieze without adjustment.
