Might be worth draining the tank and having a look inside as you can't keep replacing parts.

 

Maybe a new tank or a stainless upgrade?.

 

Metal tanks and bio diesel are never a good combo today, read the other day people in Ireland were complaining about the levels of tallow in diesel cause problems.

Well folks... My chipper is working. I've been putting this off for a while because it's embarrassing, as there was no mechanical issue to speak of. Just something very, very silly. A little piece of wood was stuck against the flywheel, which was making the belts slip and not letting the engine keep running. Very embarrassing and I absolutely should have checked the in-feed first. But hey, you live and learn. I said I'd post when I had a resolution, so here we are. Thanks everyone who helped. I definitely learned a thing or two. Mainly that I'm far better with a chainsaw than with spanners.
