Plus I can show what a clever dick I am with the ratchet straps rather than the standard spool and bar. It’s way nicer. The standard spool flops around and wants to crush your fingers and it’s heavy and pinned on. Ratchets are far more friendly and can be spread around kitbags etc to spread the carrying burden. And there’s no bar to lose on site. No small thing. 
 

I also suspect the two lower (principal) ratchets suck it on tighter than the spool. There are two, like how two wedges, hit alternately are better than one. And the spindle radius is smaller on ratchets unless you have all the spool strap out on a massive tree. Same reasoning as the Smartwinch strap.

I’m sure this is an absolute scorcher of a ribbing, Mick but I’m too young, good looking and sexually vital to get it.
