Come back to Blighty, Mick. Open a little shop in Walmington-on-Sea, providing only the most discerning clientele with only the finest tree paraphernalia. Wear a brown coat.

What if we had a local farrier knock one together out of cast iron, would you be interested then?

Speaking of new gear, how about these for spicy little slings...

Skinnier than my pinky, 49kN... didn't get a photo, but there was another one only slightly fatter, say an index finger, 100kN...

Oddly enough I have those slings, albeit more brightly coloured.
Picked them up in HBs last time I was over. I tried getting into the habit of using them, but fell into the old ways with just a fixed eye krab.
I will have another go when we restart work in March.

I know that I play up the ‘you don’t want none of that modern rubbish’ trope.

I don’t think it does any harm to point out sometimes that the wheel hasn’t been reinvented, it’s often just been painted a different colour and given a funky name like The Banzai Wankshine.

I'd with an MBS too the equivalent of 10 tonne, those slings would be slight overkill for that legnth of bailing twine you're rigging with 🤣

That rope is ideal for natty crotch rigging.

Its light, it give better friction in the tree for climber-lowering, the strands give you a better hold and feel in the fist.

Plenty strong enough for light/medium rigging.

We pulled the Ranger out of a mud hole with a tractor a while back using it.

It’s cheap so if you cook it or cut it no big deal.

I know mate. I just enjoy pointing out you're a dinosaur.

I've got a lot of time for old school, when appropriate.
