Bar Recommendation after totalling my Tsumura

This was a nice bar. Emphasis on was. Bit floppy at 28" but don't want a nose heavy 500i.

 

Looking at a GB solid bar now, great value but possibly a bit of a fatty?

 

Chainsawbars quoted weights are NOT accurate. I bought the Tsumura as they quoted it as being lighter than the Stihl light bar equivalent. It wasn't.

That's a bit brittle, I have bent a bar through 90° but never broke one

I've looked at GB for next bar on my 372, reputation seems to be good but heavy but I only want 18". Can't remember who now, there is someone who swears by them on here.

 

Chris Forestry carries them, wonder if he'd weigh one for you?

Exactly the thought I had. Iro 500g heavier than the Tsu. That's a lot when you're old

As already said most bars will bend along way before breaking, how did it happen. 

Looks a fairly new bar.

Are you sure the bar is at fault here and not "user error"? That is a hell of a break. I hope the saw is OK.

 

One alternative it to get another Tsumura, you now have a spare tip for it.

I never said the bar was at fault. I was attempting to rescue the trapped saw from an end loaded and barbered oak that had a mind of its own, with the forwarder. Release the compression without damaging the saw head. I wasn't being a vandal and the saw head wasn't deflected at all so the sheer load in the stick did that. I must admit I was a bit surprised. Not exactly the corner-cutter 3000. Being a resin filled bar perhaps they made the steel stronger but much more brittle 🤷
