If you also look at the street lights, is that 3 phase wiring above it ?.

Visually it looks like it zigzags between the street lights.

Not saying it was the right sized machine or placement, but both would be at fault.

Can't find a video of it, "cherry picker crash glasgow" brings up an event from 2018.

Anyone else any luck?

The only still image (presumably from a passing car beforehand) was released by the procurator fiscal. If they've got any videos they must be hanging on to it for their private collection.

The wires go between the street lights, here's a link to where the machine was

Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.

Glasgow has funny street lights, I think it goes back to when they had the trolleybuses?

Probably true, also watched a few videos of the guys doing street lights maintenance.

Even they're like WTF with Glasgow switching just to make things even more interesting and electrically dangerous.

Nothing about the bus driver or bus company?!? The driver should be bannned and a big fine for them too.

Why? He was just driving along the road going about his business when out pops the knuckle joint of the boom straight into its path? It could have opened up the side of the bus like a can and so just imagine it being full of kids? The clowns operating that mewp are lucky they’re not in jail for what could of been manslaughter incident!

The article does not say that, and MEWPs do not move fast. I find it unlikely that the knuckle just popped out into the road and more likely it was already over the road, with most cars and traffic passing underneath without issue. We know the bus was moving and struck the knuckle.

Drivers should know their height and be looking for obstacles above them, be it a low bridge, tree, parking barrier or MEWP knuckle...
