It seems like you know what you are doing but without trying to teach you to suck eggs, did you spray the area liberally with mouse repellent spray?

Funny you should say that, mate of mine said run it for a week or so to see if it goes away.

Should the pads have those anti squeal shims behind them?

Use a file and put a chamfer on the edges of the pads the friction material part, top and bottom
