New power unit compatible with Hyundai attachments?

Does anyone know whether there are any decent power units that are compatible with Hyundai attachments?  I'm chucking the Hyundai in the skip as I'm tired of never being able to start it without it turning into a physical fitness session.  I want to have the full setup of hedge cutter, pole saw and strimmer/brush cutter, but conscious that I'd easily spend £1500 to buy all of that in Stihl or other named brands.  Hence the reason to try and reuse the attachments if possible.

You could likely take the output end of the Hyundai and fit it to another machine to convert. Assuming those attachements were  working well for you?

Its useful having a lathe, welder, brazing kit etc... to do that kind of stuff.

If the Hyundai doesnt start theres likely an issue with carb or a leak somewhere, a bit beyond my skills to diagnose but I would instead suggest tryjng to fix it. The customer service were a pain to deal with but got my blower sorted eventually.

I think the Honda GX50 is the same.  I can get a genuine engine, not one of the knock offs for £270

If you are suggesting a replacement power unit thats compatible with your existing attachments, then there are more variables to consider than just the inner driveshaft. Internal and external diameter of the of the outer alloy tube, the way the attachments fix to the power unit tube.....not sure what you mean by mentioning the honda gx50, as that is just a bare engine...not a complete power unit which would plug and play?

So my plan is to swap out the Hyundai

Or just buy another Hyundai special, no doubt they'll sell the engine set on its own for a 150 or there abouts.

What's the point in bodging, or bite the bullet and buy Stihl or Husqvarna.

A Stihl KM engine is only around 250 and atleast in the future the petrol & battery stuff should be interchangable.

Agree...and also need to take into account insurance. Would need to inform his insurer the machine has been 'modified'- if not, and it takes his eye or leg out, or (and I know several people this has happened to) they have kicked up a stone and taken out a double glazed patio door... machine inspected and discovered not 'stock' and insurer didn't pay out.  A lot forget this.
