Fishery PPE

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations on PPE that can be worn whilst doing work around a fishery. Ie are the waders with chainsaw protection or is it a waders over protection deal?

Thanks in advance

Tom

At my old work we had chainsaw protective waders for river work but only the foot area was protected and you couldn't fit a pair of type A's inside them without them wrinkling up to your knees. I always chose normal fishing waders with type A underneath and worried about keeping my feet out the way a lot. You probably want to think about a buoyancy vest that inflates automatically on contact with water too.

And be prepared for ridicule...

Can't you use pole saws when in the water and chainsaw wellies for near the banks.

You're the one that has the justify the gear but also remember that if it gets wet it becomes a liability. No point being chainsaw safe if you drown

The Skellerup Euro Forester Super Safety Chainsaw Wader is a new addition to Abbeydale. This fully...

Thigh highs, at least. You could probably glue a cut pair of full trouser waders to a pair of chainsaw wellies and get a watertight seal easily enough, and wear them over the regular trousers, but I wonder if the manufacturers would stand over such a modification if the worst were to happen.

I hate thigh highs anyway, it's either wellies or full wader for me.
