splitting axe recommendations

If you have then tractor, then yeh get a hydraulic splitter.

Look up ktm machinery, they used to be really cheap, not so much now.

 

Never used one but don't like the look of the blade on the oxdale

Chain makers hammer. About 50lb, 23kg apparently.

The weld holding the blade to the shaft sliding part broke on mine in the first couple of weeks use if that helps🙈.  In fairness they sent a completely new splitter straight away... and the same happened!

I wouldn't touch one but they said it was a batch issue and they'd sort it which I'm sure they have, think I was just unlucky.  I moved onto processor so never bothered chasing it up.

 

But getting back to point yes fiskars x27 is a good axe to start with, can't go too far wrong lovely axe.
