Small job pricing

Haven't had a pricing thread for a while have we.

Before I go a micron further, I know what I'm charging, I know my costs and my profit aspirations, I know everyone's are different and telling me, "If [I] don't know what to charge, then I shouldn't be doing it." will result in me thinking less of you for about a second and then forgetting you exist.

With that out of the way...

Down, chipped into the flowerbeds (or away if you prefer, van fits outside the garden gate), logs on my fire. What do people charge for these kind of tiny jobs? I'm mainly familiar with big stuff.

What am I charging? £200 because he's a mate but would feel awkward having it done for free. Commercially, I'd charge £400 if I wanted to win it, £500 if I didn't care.

Is that photo from ground level or an upstairs window? Can't quite get an impression of how big it is so 3-4 hour job?

I didn't take a photo but this is street view a year ago, did this lawson on the end for £250. Would have been 2 hours arrive to depart if the back wheel hadn't fallen off my chipper.

Access would be my first concern, as the house over the footpath has built over their driveway, has the homeowner also done the same behind where the picture was taken?.

Yes I know you said van fits but looks bloody tight.

(Wee) chipper won't touch the road. Ramps straight onto the garden path.

2 hours? You can park right next to it!

What are you doing? Passing it through your digestive system ?

I barely understand what you mean btw.

Well it looks like one of those 1970s style houses with parking on a little circle away from the front door, usually the footpath is not wide enough for the postman let alone a van.

If you look at the neighbours with the lights on, they have built an extension over the rear driveway, hence why I asked if you could access where you took the picture.

The van will either fit or it won't. I can cope with carrying my spikes, flipline, saw and wheeling the chipper that far.
