How much should you pay?

Learner groundsman ( brush dragger etc ) - 50

experienced groundsman - 70 -

Learner climber - 70

Intermediate climber - 80

EXP climber 100 - 150

 

Just sometimes i get guys calling me for work just out of college and telling me they are after 100 a day. :laugh1: Really annoys me as i started on 30 a day and only made 80 a day after 8 years.

 

Just curious as don't know how much others pay.

they are good wages, im a trainee climber and im on about £55 a day which i think is fair

Forgot to add . these are subbie wages. so pay ther own tax etc and bring there own gear.

Nout wrong with that If a newbie cant except a poor starting wage (which compared to mine is great) then maybe you should think twice about giving him work. And if an experienced thinks he can get more than that find someone to replace him.

Im on £60 as an experienced groundsman/2nd climber providing my own saw

sounds good, i started on 60 for groundie, then 70, for tranee climber, now im mostly second climber sometimes main and get 80-110( depends who i work for), and so i think that you are fair.

and that is self employed with my own ppe, climbing kit, and saws
