Buying a van at distance

They pretty much want payment up front, which is kind of understandable for made to order. I've had a couple of chats, and he's pretty salesy. The problem I have is that they are approx. 300 miles away. I can't find any real reviews or anything like that. I don't fancy doing this on trust alone.

 

Does anyone have any thoughts, advice or experience?

 

For what it's worth, I'm after a Euro 6, Tipper, Sprinter or Transit, Automatic, High solid alloy sides, 

 

Primarily garden clearance, so need for true arb body.

The 3l Iveco engine is far and away the best out there in the 3.5 tonne vehicle market - nothing comes close to it for torque/general load lugging and towing.

Ran transit tippers 20 years ago and they served me well. Then went Land Rover and trailers as client base changed. They’re definitely not as reliable as transits though😳. 10s of thousands of builders can’t be wrong and why do you think ikies run them - they want something that’s 100% reliable as a stealth truck and a get away vehicle 🤔.

Yeah.

They do seem to have the edge on tip and chip ,have done for a few years now.

Even with a load of cordwood piled on top of chip there quite happy.

 

Get a bit lairy empty without the chipper on....👀
