Pine needle tea

Anyone else partake? I’m off the booze at the moment, for my vocal health you see, hence I’m bored and brewing up random shit I find in hedgerows. This is Scots pine. As far as I can tell, I’m just drinking hot water. Drank it a few times as a child and I’m sure it had some flavour or other.

Twisted them up a bit last night. Don't recall whether it made much difference. Too depressed. Don't fancy a second pot tonight. Too depressing. Have moved on to sherbet lemons and hoping the house burns down. I love drinking.

What do you normally drink?

 

for tea, look up Ivan chai. It’s made with fireweed which is fermented first. Surprisingly pleasant, and by all account very good for the male of the species.

The Royal navy used to carry pine needles in the hulls to brew up with to stop scurvy, rather than limes (limeys) pound for pound, there's more vitamin c in pine needles than citrus fruit

Beer, cider, wine, sherry, port, gin. Had been on supermarket fruit teas but apparently there’s a lot of shit in them. Can’t be too careful.

I've been drinking this recently. It tastes nice, with a good kick to it.

Loose leaf tea is the way to go.
