285cd

I’ve just acquired a 385cd. A quick look at the usual part sites makes it seem like I’ve more chance of getting hens teeth than spares for this thing. Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere that carries bits please. I hear they are still made in Brazil, is that the case? Are there any other saws with more readily available parts that I can use?

A couple of years ago a bloke posted the same . He got nowhere ( maybe he gave you the saw 🙂) The only chance would be the U.S.A. and that would probably make it non cost affective .

It was basically a 2100 with a smaller cylinder and the 480fuel tank, mid 70s how long do you expect a manufacturer to carry spares for an old saw for?  What sort of parts are you looking for?

If you can find another, buy it and make one good one out the two and use the remainder for spares for the future

Seals, bearings gaskets. The usual. It has a drum sprocket so a rim sprocket would be nice. It’s not in bad nick

I’m no chainsaw professional but done a lot with 2 stroke dirtbikes etc, bearings can always be measured and replaced with another brand providing they are the same spec in terms of rpm and load tolerance etc, I would try to find a matching bearing from another brand or model that is the same size and gaskets can be traced and cut out of a sheet of gasket material

Or even a local bearing supplier .
