In recent years the ring for hanging the saw in a TM harness is green.

Green is also life support so no breakaway built into the harness.

Hence the reason to use a production lanyard with a breakaway built in.

Mine has the rear green life support ring, which I do attach the saw lanyard to. Also has red webbing "handles" left & right of the rear green ring. On close inspection these webbing sections are not sewn into the harness and would actually rip away with sufficient force. The way they're attached though I believe it would still take a powerful force to break them free, probably more than I'd like to experience aloft. Also I wonder about the effects of the redirection of force through the lanyard, ie the real world differences of breaking at the saw vs breaking at the harness?

yes, I thought about that.

Do it Mick.

I was worried for a bit that the saw would fall out, but then remembered I’m not 17, and rarely invert myself in the tree.

Really, pull the other one.

We all know that you pull smoke flares at the top of the biggest trees ever and post on insta.
