That went well, a bit of faffiing but not a lot. They came out easy enough and my mate came around and put the new ones in, he very kindly bid me decent money on it so I sold it. If it was a medium or high top I’d have kept it.

That’s a good result mate, no comeback if it shits itself either.

Did you have to take the cover off?

rocker cover doesn’t need to come off, it’s tight but doable. Cost me 13 hundred quid including parts and getting it recovered, a bit of a gamble but it made £3,200. Tidiest MK6 about that I’ve seen.

This is getting addictive, seen another tidy MK6 in Manchester, not exactly sure what’s wrong with it yet but he says it feels underpowered. And a Connect in Congleton with a knackered fuel pump, common fault with them. So I’m  off to look at them both tomorrow. I promised myself I wouldn’t get back into buying old motors…

My mk6 has been bloody good to me, God knows what I’d buy now.

All the modern options seem to be badly made electronic crap.

I’d include all the 4x4 pickups in that statement as well.

(Cue some smartarse saying ‘Well, my 6-month old Ranger has been utterly fantastic blah blah blah).
