Stump Grinding

Me and business partner are thinking about hiring a body for stump grinding at the weekends. We've long since stopped working sat/sun due to family time etc, so there's 2 days where equipment isn't making money. Does any one on here do/done the same? Problems with staff? (!) Cheers

If I was 10 years younger I'd do it myself mate. I'm thinking bringing someone on to do it might cause more headaches than its worth though, just keen to see everyone else's thoughts

Thing is, you’re not really off duty if someone is at your clients, using your machinery with your reputation at stake. What happens if they hit underground services, break down or the client is unhappy with the finish?

Give yourself at least one day totally free of the job.

Or more likely you set it all up and they call at 6am with a bad belly! (nothing to do with the pub the night before honest gov!)

Then you are left in the position to let down the customer at the last minute or give up your day and then your family loses out.

Trust me weekend work relying on others sucks!
