seized IW wheels

before you take the wheel off. crawl under it and tap the break cable back. if that dont work then dont take the wheel off just undo the big hub nut and pull the brake drum and wheel off in a oner.

 

 

 

it might be that the azbestos (stuff) has fallen of the shoes

Mine does that sometimes, I just smack the wheel studs very hard (mine has male studs and a threaded drum )with a hammer. If you have wheel nuts ( male studs on the drum) instead you may need to remove the wheel and hit the drum itself, as you could dammage any exposed thread on the bolt.:001_smile:

thanks for the replies guys.

 

got underneath it and gave the drums a tap,

took the stud covers off applied a bit o wd40 and the hammer.

 

jacked it up and although stiff theyre now moving!

 

its alway been looked after but not been using it for a couple of months so its just been sat there (unfortunateley not undercover though)

 

it's been on the list of things to do. ie maintenance and TLC - just not had the time. That will give me a kick up the arse to make sure its done.
