Guys not really into the log splitting game but people have been biting my arm of lately cold snap i guess.

 

How much should i charge for

 

half ton logs split of conifur soft woods/ ash hard woods

 

1 ton amount

if its ash ash seasoned an average ton bag the size you get a ton of sand in is worth about 50 to 60 pounds ,soft wood i cant give it away

conny logs 1/2 ton £65

ash (hardwoods) £110 1/2 ton (average 2 dumpy bags?)

approx £55 for a building supplies sand bag delivered

i think someone posted about selling by weight saying its not a good idea your better selling by volume ie sand bag or truck/trailer is the best way

Like Steve says, It can be dodgy selling by weight, If you advertise a ton, you'd best be selling bang on a ton, Or you can get done for it, If its under of course!!

The way were told to look at it is that although alot of the time you wont make alot of monney from logs its a good bit of free advertising. As said above I wouldt sell by wieght measure the ubic meters of your form of delievry it make you look more genuine and no one can bite you in the bckside

mate the last three threads are dead on,,,I had one bloke screw me because i said I was dropping a ton off in my pick up,,,,he weighed one in his kitchen scales estimated there was thirteen in his barrow.he mutiplied it and said he only was giving me £35,,instead of my £50 asking price(was a while ago),,,when I said he can give me my logs back he got arse-y,,,so i let it go and learnt my lesson,,,,now its by the load,,,pick-up,,or transit tipper ,,,,and net bags,,,,,no complaints since,,,,plus it was a good load,,cheeky,b,,,,,d,,,,,
