Hi,

My T540i has stopped working.

The saw switches on with normal lights on the display screen. Then when pressing the power trigger down a warning light flashes for a split second and does not start chain movement.

Has anyone encountered this issue yet?

Thanks

Possibly the brake micro switch, a right bitch to get too as well, failing that the magnet has come loose on the trigger, failing that loose wires or connectors, failing that the switch box is faulty, and finally that the control board, sorry it’s difficult to give an exact diagnosis,

One more possible thing to check, I found that my Makita got difficult to start, worn sprocket was tripping the momentary pre-start test on jammed chain that it does. Thought the trigger switch was dodgy but just changed the sprocket and absolutely fine since.

Had the exact same issue with ours. If there’s any build up of sawdust etc within the sprocket cover it does this. Also does the same thing if the chain is ever so slightly too tight.

After trying all other possible causes from other comments the saw still does not go.

ADW what does the magnet on the trigger look like? Is it it's own part or is it attached to another part? I can't find an image of it to reference
