How much to charge???

I have been an Arborist for about 3 years now and im starting to do my own work but have not got a clue how much to charge

 

This lady has a conifer hedge around her garden its about 50m needs 4ft off he top and side trimming. But I really dont know a price.

 

Plus prices for other tree work like pruning, reduction, felling etc

 

Can anyone help? I know its hard to give a price without seeing anything but a around about figure for things by size would be great

like shrek said mate its what you want from the job, we all charge diffrent rates for diffrent things and in diffrent areas.what do you think your worth? don't forget running costs wear and tear insurance costs and danger risk! don't you just love coni pricing always more than what you thought there would be

dont forget to take into account removal of waste, what you think others may quote, fuel prices, profit margins, inland revenues cut etc etc. its a mine field. Good luck.

Before you start a conny hedge mate, Try and have a REALLY good look round it, Try and get in it if you can and see how wide it is etc, Im sure im not the only one who has under estimated the bulk of a conny hedge in the past.

Good advice....won't be the first time I've got up on a hedge to find all the arisings from the last cut have been 'stuffed down butt first into the hedge' nightmare....and even more rubbish to get rid of.

 

If the hedge hasn't been cut before....it'll be 'much' easier.

Take the length of time you think it will take to do the job multiply this by your day rate, add on daily cost of insurance, vehicle costs, fuel, etc and you will be there.

If you need others to work out how long jobs are going to take, then maybe youre not ready to be going it alone yet.
