Do you know "Arb Pro"? It does all that. So I'm really not trying to reinvent the wheel. But I do think that the existing Apps are not that much user friendly, cater only to big companies needs, are only in English and, most of all, are way out of what an individual climber and small company would be willing to pay. I'm thinking of something in those lines, with a few other features, multilingual, and that costs 4 or 5 pounds a month. Would love to know what you think about it.

So what is the cost to develop an App?

4-5 pounds a month isn’t a lot.  How many users do you think you will need to recover developmental costs

let alone profit.

IME, the type of guys who would be the target market are the ones who complain about costs for this and costs for that, either that or are crap as paperwork and would just dismiss something like this - even though it could be helpful.

The rest will pay for the additional

features of a product like Arbpro.

You see, I'm really only interested in knowing what features would you guys find useful. That's what I'm consulting about.

They have their own people to figure out investment, recovering developmental costs, marketing and profit. They don't tell me how to run a tree business and I don't tell them how to launch an App.

Feels like if you make it too capable then will just be too complicated to use for smaller guy.

That's what I'm thinking too. Actually the full features more complicated versions for companies exist already and usually costs more than hundred dollars a month. Cheapest is this one:

So you’ve been asked to be a consultant to an App design company on a subject I presume you carry out as a business? but throw it out to an Arb forum🤔. What’s your input for your fee? As I thought a consultant would be the subject matter expert🤔. I think a researcher would be a better description and justify a lower fee!

You asked for feedback and clearly asked if we think the market is big enough. I’ve been working in the digital arborist space for over 15 years now, have launched several web apps during that time as well as a couple of iOS/android apps. I think I have a reasonable feel for the market. If they are looking for a labour of love then go for it. If they are looking for a stand along business opportunity they’ll probably starve to death.

I don't think they are looking for a labor of love:

Look at the amount of reviews they have. In fact only 3 of the ones listed even have any reviews. I appreciate the vast majority of people never bother leaving reviews, but it is at least some sort of indication as to the popularity of arborist apps.
