Lime is heavy when green, but has relatively high water content so becomes light when all the water has gone.

 

Lime has a pretty distinctive smell when you saw it, once you've identified that you wouldn't mix it up with maple.

I’m tempted to backtrack away from lime - the inside looks more Norway Maple. The union just visible to the right of the second pic looks more lime-esque though. 
OP - lick it all over and report back with flavour notes please…
