hi any of you guys in france recommend a car hire compay? 

i know i can google just thought you may have had good/bad experiences of them.

I hire cars abroad maybe three or four time a year and have always found 'HolidayAutos' to be pretty fair TBH - they effectively act as a broker and use the larger firms.  The further ahead you book the cheaper it seems to be. 

 

One piece of advice would be to take a standalone insurance policy to cover the excess rather than accept it as an add-on.  Our policy costs around £45 a year, covering the whole of Europe for multiple trips in a year.

yes i have used them before and found them ok, the whole mega excess, extra insurance stuff annoys me, but il obviously have to get it in shape or form

You don't have to get the excess insurance as a yearly, can also get as a one off for a couple of quid a day rather than the 25 Avis charge. Robbing bastards.
