Mate of mine, a lass, went out last night, when she got home she got a message on her phone saying, AirTag moving with you. She doesn’t have an AirTag. It sounds a bit waffty to me but I know nothing of these tags.

I don't know about airtags either eggs but sounds a bit dodgy doesn't it.

This lifted from the link below suggests that message is a warning from Apple?

How to know you are being tracked by an AirTag

Apple issues alerts to let someone know that there’s an AirTag near them that isn’t associated with their iCloud account. These alerts happen after some period of time or while you’re moving and the AirTag is moving with you.

Should an unknown AirTag be tracking you you will see an alert that will state: “AirTag Found Moving With You”. Apple will invite you to open the Find My app on your iPhone to go through various options to disable the tracking and locate the AirTag, discussed below. (Incidentally you may also see an alert for other devices moving with you, such as AirPods and other Bluetooth trackers).

I know enough, if someone puts an air tag on a stranger it alerts them eventually.

There is a option where it beeps at you to help you find them, unless they removed the speaker.

Plenty of stuff on YouTube.

They aren't much larger than a keyring, so check coat, bag etc. But try the locate feature for it to beep, it uses Bluetooth so with be findable with the apple locate.

I'm sure if the legalities in the UK tho.

As it does inform the owner or warm them, so might be a police thing to look into if she wanted to take it further.

My suggestion is pure heresy and turn her phone off! Don't they log onto available iphones to log their location, if there isn't a phone within bluetooth range then no location. Obviously it will pick up the next signal it finds though
