I've got a camon SG13 which is basically a rayco. You get them from Westcon equipment down dorset way-ish. As you say they pay for themselves. When I brought it, it was a really good investment as you could just finish the job then get paid. We are in london and I win many jobs as they fit through the house. They are hard work but not as hard a digging it out!

Go for an alpine magnum mate. They are awesome grinders. They requre a certain technique for effective use but once youve masterd that you can have stumps smashed out of the ground in not time. Plenty of positives to using one of these, access etc. I tried using a small handlebar like grinder and had the worst days grinding of my life. Hard to manouver, bad for you back didant get on with it atal. I dont think the hire shop was sharpening the teeth very well so maybe not the fairest trial tho.

I use the predator 450 and that is awesome with the multitip teeth, we have done everything from small softwood stumps in second to the largest being a 6-7 feet wide holm oak stump. They fit through gates and doorways, self propelled and 25 hp kohler engine. Loads of grunt.
