Best grease for forst chippers

Hi folks. What type of grease would you recommend using for my forst chipper? thanks

You have 5 grease points on a Forst, 2 of them are for the flywheel bearings which require higher temperature grease.
It’s usually written on the cartridge what it’s used for.

More importantly make sure the grease lines aren’t split so the grease reaches its destination.

I put the grease nipples directly into the bearings so I knew it was getting there.

Thanks Mick. So you use a different type of grease for the flywheel bearings compared to the other 3 points?

No, not at all. The other 3 are for roller bushes/bearings that operate at low speed, so high temp grease is fine.

That's good advice, I've never been a fan of the central grease points, blockages, splits etc. Direct is much better and doesn't take much more time 👍

JCB Hp grease. It's an ep2 lithium grease. It's also blue so it shows up nicely.

And like Goldilocks, not to little, not too much.

 

And if you see it, clear it off as once it mixed with dirt, dust and grit you've got a very expensive lapping compound.
