whats the advantage of it over a big tirfor winch?

 

When the shear pins on the Tirfor are in pieces the Trewhella is just getting warmed up.

Just have to remember that if it takes 3 men to put the pressure on then make sure you use 3 men to take the pressure off! That handle will take your head off.

Speed of pull I am lead to belive from old monkey bod's!? Never used one myself though. May be time to call up the old guy bob from nr by at the mo..

Off topic, but related.

 

Here's an old name plate from a early model, that's been made into a belt buckle by one of the farriers at the Crown estates.

Belongs to one the guys on the team, Casper.

 

Like the discriptive wording on the original, compared to the later models.
