Maybe the streetworks were planned more than a week ago?

 

I would assume they outsourced the spec to a 3rd party, who surveyed the job, programmed it in and made up the required temporary signs.

 

I doubt a single person in that time had the inclination to trawl the local Facebook or WhatsApp groups to check the status of the bus service.

 

Get a spec- meet the spec - get paid.

I that case, maybe the kid that plans the signs still has a bus through his village, and is enjoying rubbing this village’s faces in it.

 

Inter-village rivalry was a big thing where I grew up.

It’s like having a sign wot says no shagging in the bus stop. 99.9% will get by just fine without a sign telling them not to, especially as it’s see through, but just the odd 0.01% might benefit from a sign…
