Big fallen oak tree use

I've got a big oak tree fallen into a stream due to the roots being damaged by water. Council tree officer has advised for this tree to be removed when it was decaying into the stream. Stream is small and there is an access for machinery. I have a quotes from the local tree surgeon to remove it and to dispose. But I wonder if I can fund someone who might be interested using it. Tree is big and seemed healthy. I am attaching a few pictures. The first one is when the tree wast still standing.

I know:) I have one quote and awaiting for 2 more. I just do not know if the tree can be used in some way.

Best to wait until it's piled up and tidy.

 

Plus it all depends on how they have to cut it up to move, the thicker the trunk the smaller the rings Vs weight etc

Took an Oak tree out of a river at the start of the year. The whole tree root plate and all  had slipped down the cliff, landed on top of 40K of wood bridge snapping it in half. It all ended up in the river. No access for large machinery took us 2 days with a 5t and a 2t digger to get it all out and on top of the bank. Bridge was burnt on site, Cost was over 2K. Oak kept for firewood.

Disposing of the wood will not be hard if the tree surgeon does not want it.  Plenty of people out there that will take it for processing at home if it is cut into manageable pieces.

There is a pretty big forest like area on the other bank of the stream. The current plans are to leave most of the tree trunk and big branches there mulching the smaller ones.

If advertised as free firewood on facebook.

 

Bet someone with a B&Q special and a wheelbarrow would turn up and loop a few branches of it, with  price of gas etc atm. 😏
