Acer suddenly looking very poorly

Question

I bought this tree last year and it was planted by the supplier, it was about 12ft tall at the time of planting.  It looked very healthy a few weeks ago but suddenly looks very poorly. I have kept it watered both at the roots and through foliage. It looks scorched and I'm concerned that it might not survive. Any advice would be very welcomeIMG_6120.thumb.JPG.bb4ad02a47f4b5593169988b1a4a8e9b.JPG

Do you have any photos of the base and rooting area?

spraying water on the foliage in hot sunny weather is not good as the leaves will get scorched and die gallons of water at the base each day or a drip irrigation pipe round the tree and left on 24 hrs. a day till it rains a lot
