Oh yeah, i totally get that it's all fresh cut wood. I just didn't particularly want conifer 👍

I will gladly have all the conifer you don't want . Especially Leylandii and Larch , please .

You got experience of burning Macrocarpa Stubby?  I've no idea how good it is but will surely find out this winter;  tree no.4 of it is half dismantled - only another dozen or so to go, the biggest with 4' dbh!

To the OP, ideally if using an old tyre on your block get as wide a car tyre as you can and use it to mark and trim a shoulder onto the top of your block with your saw at near to the size of the bead on the car wheel it will mount on like on a wheel and won't want to come off... also drill some decent sized holes in the bottom sidewall with a hole saw to let the water out or your block will rot quicker.. bike tyre will be no use unless it's off a top fuel dragster, cheers.

We had loads of wood that dad called macrocarpa after the 87 storms. Used to crack and spit chunks out of the fire so had a guard up, would be ok in a woodburner. I'd say somewhat similar to leylandii, slightly more orangey colour.

Not much to be honest . It makes a lot of " floaty " ash I seem to remember .
