Quick review of @Crocky porting. he done a ms460 for me. Its very impressive the difference its made. The 15 year old saw now holds its own (maybe better...) against the new saws like the 500i. The torque seems to be massively improved it just keeps cutting.

So top work thanks. If anyone is after some porting get in touch with him.

@Crocky has done my MS 200t

Cuts a treat, definite gain and it just sits ticking over perfectly on my harness nicely, never cuts out which is lovely when making multiple cuts and stowing in-between to chuck stuff out of the tree.

The best top handle got better after he had it.

Currently got a local guy porting a saw for me ( Simon Trantor in Hampshire ) look forward to seeing how that one goes.

Artur Rodaks work also looks nice

Ported saws are def gaining popularity this side of the big blue pond and in my opinion well worth doing, for one thing you can go 1 or 2 sizes down on a saw to do the same job.  less tiring if you are climbing with them or snedding up all day long.

I didn't know there were many others doing it.

I seen a place called Bellebrook arb that also ports saws.

This is the first I've had done so I have no comparison. All I can say is it impressive.

I also have a ms201 back handle booked in which I use for forestry snedding due to the weight of it.

And of the back of receiving my 460 back I have also booked in my 500i.

hi Ollie,

didn’t see a notification for this. I’m not always on here. PM me and we can have a chat. I’m taking bookings for June.
